As there is noone reading and noone posting - maybe we should just delete it.
It seems like facebook has taken over for most of us.

Perls of swedish news...

Dear anybody that's reading, I am waiting for Jocke's photos to share the marvelous time we had in Antti's summerhouse and meanwhile, check the important debate that is going on swedish media:

Swedish pharmacies' sex toys 'discriminate against men'

blabla...
' One of the men complaining wrote that he thought the pharmacy's selection clearly showed that the pharmacy chain "had a misguided and untrue view on sexuality where a woman with a dildo is seen as liberated, strong and independent, whereas a man with a blow up plastic vagina is viewed as disgusting and perverted."'

Other important news:

Vancouver

Hey!! As some of you know I went to Vancouver for a conference and then stayed there for a short vacation. It was good fun, and I had as much seafood and sushi as I could fit in my expansive stomach (not much of either in Germany). I submit a few pics for your enjoyment.

Some rock art in between English Bay and Stanley Park in downtown Vancouver

Inês, the friend with whom I stayed with (left) and Diane one of her colleagues from UBC at the summit of the Grouse Mountain.

Me at a dinner party at Inês' place (where I cooked Moamba, the Angolan chicken dish with palm oil)

View of North Vancouver and some Islands from Jericho Beach

We did one day hike up the Chief near Squamish (in between Vancouver and Whistler). This is the view from peak 3.

On one evening myself, Inês and a friends of hers, Caroline, went to the folk music festival of Vancouver, and saw (outside of the Festival fence) Michael Franti and Spearhead

Real Sociability, or why isn't Moi, un Noir?

Hommage a la BRAIN. We will not explain the thought by the chemical structure of a neurotransmitter. I am now a neuroscientist. A thought can not be assembled by a group of neurons. Je suis Eddie Constantine, agent secret american in a quest to find the missing neurotransmitter.

I have found it but the waiter removed the brain map from the table. That was a work of the 35000 neuroscientists that attend the SFN meeting, in Washington (DC). Now we all have data but no theory, is this SCIENCE or MARKET RESEARCH? We will vote and encounter the absolute truth. I have to deliver the suitcase to the CIA, they have no intelligence (without the suitcase). I am Eddie Constantine. Greetings.

Gadgeting up!

We are now proud owners of two fantastic kajaks! So feel free to come visit and try them out in any of the waters close by our home.

But first we are off to Amsterdam to meet Maarten and then to Geneva to meet Bjorn & Wiebke, Johannes and other Canberra friends that might be showing up for the conferences!

Ciao, ciao!

Capital Punishment (2)

Just to let you know that the new version of Capital Punishment will soon hit the table of the judges in Uppsala in on of the largest film fests in the world.

Raul and Maarten did an excellent job cutting, and Raul did the final tweaking that made the film superb... I have to say that the camera job is also not bad...

here r some of Kiri's pics

Btw, I just want to inform that the negatives of this film are

And as the video quality is not that great... I think we well have to wait for the next movie to get an oscar...

I will scan some of my pics and post soon, so we can 'enjoy the good times'.

Flash trip to Southwestern Portugal

As some of you know, I have had the chance to do a weekend trip to Portugal! Thankfully the rain that had been characterizing Portugal up until then decided to take a few days off. As such, I was able to enjoy a few days in the sunshine of southwestern Portugal!

Enjoy,

Raúl

Visiting Raul in Bonn!

Bonn, Cologne - Gemany
16-19 MayRaul is standing in front of his office - SERIOUSLY he works in a castle!

Vacation in the sun.

Raul & Richard waiting....

For German beer!

Miniature bbq at Raul's balcony supervised by Kiri. Tasted delicious later!

Kiri came for the weekend from Munich.

Touristing in Bonn!

Love art on the wall they have there....

At outdoor bars the beer comes in glasses where you pay extra for the glass that you get back when you return the glass. Also works like this at concerts, so no broken glass or messy scenery when everyone want the 2 euros back. Smart!

We climbed the long stairs up the Koln Dome!

Cool view!

Beautiful church!

Like in the set of Lord of the Rings!

And here the hobbits live in happy colorful houses!

Meat on a stick - in a different way!

Me and Ri also went to a German industrial rock concert - you might remember his favorite band Einsturtsenden Neubauten (I have no idea how to spell that) - anyway, the concert was AWESOME! One of the best both of us have ever seen.

To summarize: We had a great time! Thanks Raul and Kiri!!
